Inside, the solid walnut millwork, elaborate decorative plaster ceilings (13 feet high on the main and 2nd levels, and 11 feet even on the 3rd), the grandly curved 3 storey walnut staircase to the 8 bedrooms up, even seemingly minor detail like the exquisite brass door and window hardware, each one a work of art. Admittedly, you may want to add some modern touches of your own now, remembering that this home is a treasure not to be enhanced without careful consideration. Yes, Idylwyld on its maturely treed 3/4+ acre lot, has been a Guelph treasure for 140 years and can now be treasured by your family too, for far far less than its cost of replacement, not that you ever could.
